Origin
of the name
The name "Eudon" appeared in the Doomesday Book
in 1183, meaning Yew (Eu) Hill (don). In 1386 the name "Burnell"
was tagged on, from Robert Burnell, Bishop of Bath &
Wellls.
Eudon Burnell is an idea base for exploring Shropshire and
its many attractions. We are convenient for the historic
market towns of Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury and Ludlow.
The
Ironbridge Gorge, the birthplace of the industrial revolution,
and the World Heritage museums, is a short drive away. Nearby
attractions include the famous Severn Valley Steam Railway,
Rays Farm Country Matters and Daniels Mill. Around Shropshire
and the Welsh Borders you will find a huge range of castles,
historic houses, monuments and gardens to visit.
Golf,
horse riding, canoeing and many other activities can be
found locally.
The
farm itself is located on the Jack Mytton Bridleway and
located in a good walking area.
